GPSTest

GPSTest

Description

You can use this simple but great application to check how fast your iPhone locates the satellites and determines your current location.

BEFORE YOU PURCHASE AN EXPENSIVE GPS NAVIGATION SOFTWARE, WE RECOMMEND YOU TO TEST YOUR IPHONE FOR THE SPEED AND ACCURACY OF THE GPS MODULE WITH THIS CHEAP APP.

Not only does it provide information about the horizontal and vertical position but it also displays the accuracy of these values, so you can be continuously aware of the validity of the coordinates actually displayed.

You can display a map any time to see the location provided by the GPS module, and you can inform your friends about your position — all these are available with a simple touch. If no network coverage or WiFi connection is available, you can simply save the mail as draft and send later.

Upon exiting the application it stores your latest valid coordinates, so next time you will see it after starting — until the new valid coordinates are determined.

Tested to work with iPhone OS 3.0 and 3.1

Waste of a dollar

:
I thought this would be a great app, but I was wrong. All this app does is show your latitude and longitude, and lets you email your coordinates. It has a link to google maps, which comes on the iPhone anyway. There are FREE apps that will do all this and much more. My advice would be to try one of those first.

Doesn't work properly

:
I'm really glad I downloaded this app when it was free. I used it the first time indoors and it didn't work. I took into account I was in an office. So I walked outside where I had full 3G coverage...still nothing. So I tried my maps app....worked fine. So I have no idea why this app didn't work. Test results?...."GPSTest" got an "F".
